Water is the most important resource for any civilization, with each society having an ever-evolving connection to the water that it depends on. Over time our reliance on this resource for different uses, damaging or not, increasingly alters and impacts on different bodies of water and ecosystems.

From the Boardwalk is a study and observation of human alteration of the Hobson Bay and Orakei Basin area, one of Auckland’s most significant bodies of water. The history and identity of this area has been shaped by human interaction and there are signs of this along all its edges, in all its corners and in the water itself.
